Courmayeur

Its a Tough day at work when you have to drive to Italy and ski for the day!

The pistes are in pretty fine condition, however off piste is chopped up and cruddy. You can't win them all or that's what we thought.

A cheeky look over the back of the yula revealed a few unskied powder lines. After a slightly gnarly entrance through a rocky chute soft fluffy snow was a nice reward, 4 turns later and it's unfortunately over though. Back in the lift it was to hit it again.

Realising that I was actually working a final Italian coffee stop was necessary before heading back to the van.

Pas de Chevres

A late start to the day put a few people in front of us as we lined up for our first trip to the top of grand montets of the season. After unknowingly insulting the world champion free ride skier we'd made it.

With a few fresh lines still to be had we charged off down the pas de chevres!

Good snow with minimal rocks was had all the way down to the exit tree.

The Montenvers cable car was still shut so a 20 minute hike leads you to the top of the James Bond track for the final descent into town!

Midi Mid Station

The first day in almost two weeks where you can actually see the midi meant we had to go ski it! An originally plan of just the mid station quickly evolved to a fully fledged vallee Blanche idea! Geared up we headed out onto the unequiped arĂȘte to be faced with a wind loaded ridge ready to slab on both sides. Another recky and a hasty retreat was made back down to the mid station with tails between legs!

CHAMONIX .....Again!

The rumours of a lack of snow aren't particularly accurate anymore!
